Q. Is indoor tanning the same as tanning outside in the sun?

A.When you tan at our tanning salon, your skin produces a tan the same way it does when you lay out in the sun - through ultraviolet (UV) light.  There is one important difference ... when you are out in the sun, you cannot control the amount of UV light you are exposed to, because outdoor exposure can be affected by time of day, time of year, cloud cover, reflective surfaces, elevation and latitude.  Indoor tanning is a controlled environment, which allows you to slowly build a tan, to develop and increase your natural SPF, without even a hint of sunburn.  We will gradually increase your exposure time with each visit to build your tan and protect your skin from overexposure.
